On 9 June 2026, the European Commission officially recognised the eea as a valid implementation tool for Covenant of Mayors signatories. As a result, eea municipalities can now join the Covenant through a simplified process.
We would like to encourage all of our local authorities to now become part of the CoM community! Your national eea offices will provide more information on how the simplified process works in practice.
